Jack Hobbs

John Gosden's Jack Hobbs propelled into the Investec Derby reckoning when landing a Sandown Park handicap in stunning fashion and was then seen putting up a fine effort in the Dante Stakes at York, where he finished second to Golden Horn.

That pair did battle in the aforementioned Derby and Golden Horn franked the form with his stablemate, but Jack Hobbs produced a cracking display in the Epsom Classic when finishing second and will now aim to build on that now lining up in the Irish Derby.

Highland Reel

A Group 2 winner of the Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, Highland Reel has always shaped like a class act for Aidan O'Brien and he will attempt to hand the Ballydoyle supremo more success in the Irish Derby on June 27.

He was last seen putting up a cracking effort to finish second in the French Derby, where he was beaten by French star New Bay, and a repeat of that effort should see him go very close in this Curragh Classic over 1m 4f.

Storm The Stars

William Haggas's Storm The Stars has been busy this season and having landed a Leicester maiden, he went on to finish second in the Chester Vase behind Hans Holbein, before returning to winning ways in Goodwood's Listed Cocked Hat Stakes.

He was then handed the tough test of the Investec Derby, and whilst he was unable to deal with the classy Gosden-trained pair of Golden Horn and Jack Hobbs, he was a cracking third place in the Epsom Classic and has to be a contender here.

Qualify

Aidan O'Brien's Qualify was a shock 50/1 winner of the Investec Oaks at Epsom earlier in the season, but the filly will now look to take on her male adversaries on June 27 and she will face a stiff task to down her rivals in this replica watches event.

Outclassed in the 1000 Guineas, she showed that she relished the step up to 1m 4f for the Oaks and this Derby trip will play to her strengths, but it's going to be a tough ask to down her male rivals at the highest level at the Curragh.

Giovanni Canaletto

Aidan O'Brien's Giovanni Canaletto kicked off his campaign with a disappointing second place finish behind Curvy in the Gallinule Stakes, but with that filly now going on to land Royal Ascot glory the form has been given a major boost.

He was a 10-length fourth in the Investec Derby and struggled to produce his best, but he could well relish this Curragh test and he has to be a lively adversary to the red-hot favourite Jack Hobbs, who will be the one to beat in the Emerald Isle.
