Irish Derby 2013 Result - Trading Leather causes Curragh

Jim Bolger bagged another Classic in the 2013 season as Trading Leather produced a career best effort to land the Irish Derby at the Curragh at the end of May in a race that saw the legendary break the stranglehold of Aidan O'Brien, who was unable to win the race for the eighth year in the spin as hot favourite Ruler Of The World flopped.

The Epsom Derby hero was well-backed for the Group One prize, but was never troubling the leaders and it was Kevin Manning on board the 6/1 Trading Leather who went for home first and he duly quickened with aplomb to beat Galileo Rock by one-and-three-quarter lengths, whilst Festive Cheer completed the one-two-three.
